How long does an assessment take?

The length of time an assessment takes varies depending on the nature and complexity of a problem. An assessment can include various interviews, questionnaires, activities etc. and therefore can sometimes require more than one meeting with the psychologist to complete.

The entire process for an individual assessment, including the production of a fully detailed and tailored report takes approximately 3 weeks.

What can I expect from an assessment?

Firstly, an appointment will be arranged for you to meet the psychologist, where they will take some details about you and the presenting problem. You may be asked to complete questionnaires or specific activities. The outcome of these will be discussed with you.

Once the assessment has been completed, you can expect to receive a fully detailed written report about the outcome of the assessment. This will include details about the specific assessment undertaken, the rationale for undertaking the assessment and details about the meaning of the assessment outcome. Specific recommendations about treatment or support will also be included in your report to help address or manage any problem identified.
